Spoleto,

From June 26th to July 12th Spoleto will open its theatres to the international public of the Festival dei 2 Mondi. A program
marked as always by excellence and exclusivity, with gems like the opera Gianni Schicchi directed by Woody Allen, Robert
Wilson's return to acting and his encounter with Beckett's theater, the long awaited dance section selected with Alessandra
Ferri's consultancy, the concerts performed by classic music superstars like James Conlon and the G.Verdi Orchestra
from Milan, and so much more. Spoleto is the most architecturally layered town of Umbria, but each generation followed
themselves without interfering with each other, actually creating a unique aesthetical balance, consolidating the vocation
to become an exceptional stage, where architecture meets nature in a unique match. Each age has left behind in the city
its own theatrical signs: the Roman Age, the Medieval Age, the Renaissance, the Baroque, the Neoclassical Age. Each
period added new scenic spaces: the Amphitheatre (outside the city walls), the second amphitheatre, where the Augustinian
complex of San Nicolò will be built, the Teatro Romano and the Caio Melisso, then the little wooden theatre that was located
in Piazza Campello in the '700, and finally the Nineteenth-century Teatro Nuovo. Spoleto becomes a theatre itself, where
the visitors are not simple spectators, but protagonists. The Festival of Two Worlds Foundation and Con Spoleto - Consorzio
Operatori Turistici offer their collaboration to organize personalized tourist and cultural offers.
